Ooh ok so this reminds me of writing my eharmony dating profile all those years ago! As I write this I am 42 years old (2023), I am 5ft 3" although people always think I'm tall for some reason. I am married to a lovely gorgeous man called Andy, & yes we did meet on said dating website! We are very lucky to have 2 beautiful & full of beans kids and 1 furry family member called Buddy, yes he's a dog! We live in Shirley in Solihull but I am originally from a small place called Tewkesbury (near Cheltenham for those that don't know). My job history ranges from working on a sheep farm, to selling prestige cars, being a partner in a veterinary pharmaceutical company & running my own business supporting small businesses making & selling children's wares. Since having the kids I decided to take a step back so I could be around for them and currently have a part time job at Next while I complete my studies.
I've been going to the gym on & off since I was 17. I'd go through phases when I'd go 3 x per week for a month or 2 then I wouldn't go for a bit then I'd hit it hard for a while again before maybe not going for months. I definitely have a good metabolism & prior to turning 30, & before having the kids, would say I could get away with eating whatever I liked (I know don't hate me!). It's a different reality nowadays, as it is for most people, but the other difference now is the effect exercising has on my mental health, not just my body. Becoming a parent, whether biologically or otherwise, has a massive impact on your life, it's wonderful of course, but it changes you, I think most people would agree with that. After I had the kids I really struggled to know who I was, felt like I'd lost my identity, how I should even dress, it was scary, trying to juggle life & find time for myself, whoever I was now. Exercise genuinely helped me figure "me"out. It gave me time to myself. It gave me new challenges. It gave me confidence.
We all know exercise is good for us but we are all guilty of making excuses, too busy & looking for a quick fix. I am not a believer of "dieting" I do not think restricting certain foods or skipping meals is the way to live. I love food. I know I also love the gym, well actually let me change that to I love the way the gym makes me feel! I'm not always keen to get in there but I am always glad when I have. I want to help people find their way to living a healthy happy balanced life. Exercise can be going for a walk, doing some gardening, lifting weights, it looks different to everybody but keeping active is the key. I honestly believe we don't slow down as we get old, we get old when we slow down. If you don't use it chances are you may lose it! So if you are interested in reducing your chances of things like osteoporosis, heart disease, stroke, type 2 diabetes, and some cancers. If you want to reduce the risk of falls as you get older, stress, clinical depression, dementia & alzheimers disease. If you want to boost your energy levels & mood, improve your quality of sleep, find the confidence you've been lacking & generally feel good. Exercise can help, and if you aren't sure where to start then get in touch with me I'd love to help you.
